A team of students in my J454: PR Campaigns course were charged with helping their client, the City of Redmond, to increase community engagement. Its key public/target audience is young adult citizens and young families. The PR team researched best practices, conducted secondary research, met with representatives from the City of Redmond and then developed, implemented and evaluated a PR Campaign. For one tactic, they worked with Redmond’s City Manager, Keith Witcosky, to develop the first in a planned series of video press releases to be promoted via Facebook. This video aired on February 19, 2016, and received a warm reception from the Redmond community.
